#4: ARIEL

Number four on the list is the Little Mermaid herself, my personal favorite.

A bright, spirited mermaid who is also adventurous and stubborn. Ariel is also curious and loves adventures.  She’s able to risk everything for her love and dreams, even if this might hurt herself.

“Princess Ariel is a mermaid who first appeared in Disney's 1989 theatrical release the The Little Mermaid as the main protagonist. She reprises her role as the protagonist in the 1992-94 television series and the 2008 prequel; the TV series is a midquel, as it takes place between the 2008 prequel and the 1989 film. She is the tritagonist in the 2000 sequel, while her daughter Melody took her spot as the protagonist. Ariel is voiced by Jodi Benson in all the above animated material except the parody non-Disney appearances.
The character is based on the protagonist of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" fairy tale, but was developed into a different personality for the 1989 animated film adaptation. Her distinct appearance consists of long, flowing red hair, a green tail, and a lavender seashell bikini top.” http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Ariel

“Ursula is based on the "sea witch" character in Hans Christian Andersen's story The Little Mermaid. In the original story, the sea witch is a neutral enabler, but for Disney's animated adaptation, the character was modified into a full-fledged antagonist and plays a larger role in the overall story. Ursula is a cecaelian sea witch who "helps" unfortunate merfolk to achieve her own goals. She also turned into a beautiful young woman named Vanessa to trick Eric, the love of Ariel's life.” http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Ursula
